What is Texas Hold’em?
Texas Hold’em is the world’s most popular poker variant. It’s a battle of cards, courage, and cunning. Each player gets 2 private cards and must build the best 5-card hand using the 5 community cards revealed on the table. Win by crafting the strongest hand — or by bluffing your way through.
Game Flow & Basic Rules
- At the beginning of each game, the next player clockwise from the dealer must place a small blind bet, The next player must place a big blind bet. A big blind is the minimum bet for the whole game, and a small blind is half of a big blind.
- Pre-Flop: At the start of the game, each player deals with 2 hand cards and begins the first round of betting. The big or small blind player will automatically bet, then the big blind player clockwise from the next player in turn. Players can choose to call, raise, check, all in or fold. The round of betting ends when all players have reached the same betting amount.
- Flop: 3 community cards are issued to begin the second round of betting. Starting with the small blind player, the player can choose to check, call, raise, all in orfold, and the round of betting ends when all players have reached the same betting amount.
- Turn: The 4th community card is issued to begin the third round of betting. The betting rules are the same as above.
- River: The 5th community card is issued to begin the fourth round of betting. The betting rules are the same as above.
- After the fourth round of betting is completed, the winner of the game is determined by comparing the ranking of card combinations.
- 52 cards without Jokers.
- The player's 2 hand cards and the 5 community cards on the table, a total of 7 cards, take 5 cards to make the highest combination.
